Cruise ship trips are meant to be fun and relaxing. However, passengers on a Carnival Cruise during October 2018 had a different story to tell! The incident took place after a few hours it left from the Port Canaveral in Brevard County in Florida. The ship started to tilt on one side at sea at a very dangerous angle. The tilting caused the passengers to fret and panic.
Passengers shocked to see items spilling over inside the ship. Spoons, silverware, and glass began to fall over leading to a panic-stricken situation. After some time, the tables started falling, and then passengers started to fall out of their seats. This all made them horrified and frightened. A quiet and relaxing trip turned out to be a complete nightmare for the passengers. They wanted to get out of the situation as early as possible. Due to the water spilling out from the glasses, many people were quite disappointed to see their suitcases being spoiled as well.
Carnival Sunshine explained that it was a small technical problem that caused the cruise to tilt for a minute. They apologized for the same and offered the passengers an onboard credit of $50 as a token of their apology. However, passengers weren’t convinced about it. All they wanted was to get out of the cruise as early as possible.
Luckily, it was only a small technical snag. Nobody was injured when the cruised tilted. The upset happened on 31st October, 2018. Carnival assured everybody that the issue was corrected and the cruise was set to sail on 2nd November itself. It also assured that it would stand by its commitment to keeping its passengers, crew, and ship safe at all times.
A Twitter User DaviesGravey wrote about it:
@CarnivalCruise Last night was a very scary experience on the Sunshine. The starboard side literally felt like it lifted. I was in the dining room on 3. All the tables slid and fell over, glass falling and breaking. People screaming. And all we get is, ‘It’s being investigated’
